Chuck & Chad Earn Wood Badge

At the annual district dinner on March 20th, Chuck Mertes and Chad Larson were presented with their beads for completing Wood Badge training.

Wood Badge is the highest training an adult leader or staffer can earn in Boy Scouts.  The training consists of a six day outdoor portion and an 18 month practical portion.  During the practical portion, participants work towards fulfilling established goals in their unit with the skills learned during the outdoor training.

Chuck and Chad's Wood Badge course NE IV 209 began on August 22, 2008 at Camp Lavigne in Columbia Montour Council for a three day session followed by another 3 day session at Camp Karoondinha in Susquehanna Council.
