What is going on at summer camp on day 5? Well, I don't know. See I am home right now due to food poisoning for this wonderful cantaloupe served in the dining hall. Luckily I was the only one from the troop to get ill. Parents don't fret. Our fourth most competent leader, Stacy (with the natural progression being Chuck, myself, Tony, and Stacy), arrived just as I left last evening. I am feeling much better and plan to return shortly.
So what has been going on? Monday night was the water carnival. While we don't know the actual results it looks like Troop 172 did pretty well.
Tuesday the boys focused on building a weather rock to end all weather rocks. The rock itself is estimated at over 150 lbs and was hoisted by six youth while Tony tied off the rope.
Wednesday night was the troop campfire and we managed to get some laughs during our "Ugliest Man" skit.
All in all the weather has been great. The boys have had some struggle adapting to the new merit badge schedule, however we have been told that it will be corrected for next year. Most importantly, I think everyone has been having fun so far.
Oh, and those pictures I promised. They are still on my camera in my tent.
